About this Artist

Anam Feerasta is an emerging artist who was born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan, and today resides in Toronto. Painting predominantly in acrylic and oil paints, Anam explores personal identity in the context of abstract, universal truths that are grounded in ideas of love, oneness, spirituality, and devotion. Her oeuvre involves examining different barriers, both external and internal, that prevent one's identity from being fully realized. Combining figuration and abstraction to create layered, textural compositions, Anam alludes to her own struggle to build an independent identity after relocating to a new culture as a young adult.
