Q: WHAT DOES BEING AN ARTIST MEAN TO YOU?
A: Being an artist is to be authentic in expression. When you are true to yourself, you are continuously living a beautiful life. It is the greatest pleasure of all.
Q: WHAT INSPIRES THE TITLES OF YOUR WORK, HOW DO YOU NAME THEM?
A: My works are titled after the materials and the environments from which they are made. I often begin with a name in mind and it is only a matter of time before its form is revealed to me. When the essence of the piece lives up to its title, I feel my work is complete.
Q: DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE COLOR PALETTE TO WORK WITH?
A: A monochromatic palette fully reflects my style. Working in this way, I am able to capture incredible textures, surface patterns, and the interplay of light. When I work with a minimal palette, I can maximize the effect of striking contrasts or subtleties. The colours I select have to be able to work in harmony and embody the full range of nature — anywhere between the earth and sky.
Q: WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A PART OF KISMET ART CO.?
A: Being part of Kismet Art Co. is to be a part of something much greater than myself to make a positive impact on the world. It is to connect, to share my passion with others, to support, and to be inspired by other incredible women. Kismet Art Co. is a testament to women’s empowerment. It is wonderful to see what can be accomplished when we share each other’s dreams. I am grateful to be a part of it.
